Parma part ways with manager Cuesta

Carlos Cuesta has parted ways with Parma, the Serie A club announced on Sunday. The decision was described as a mutual agreement, citing the inability to continue the professional relationship, especially regarding the development of the sporting project, as the reason. Cuesta, a 31-year-old Spaniard, took up his first senior managerial role with Parma in 2025 after replacing Cristian Chivu.

Prior to his tenure with Parma, Cuesta served as assistant coach at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta. His stint with Parma has been intense, with the manager penning an Instagram post expressing his dedication until the very last day to the team and club he has become attached to. The decision followed Parma's first victory of the Serie A season, a 2-1 home win against Genoa.

Currently, Parma is positioned 15th in the Serie A standings. Cuesta stated that the team had fought as a united family until the last minute to achieve their ultimate goal - victory. Parma's coaching staff will lead Monday's training session, pending further developments concerning the appointment of a new head coach.
