Parma part ways with manager Cuesta

Parma manager Carlos Cuesta has parted ways with the Serie A club, according to a statement released on Sunday. The move was described as a shared decision following discussions between Parma and the 31-year-old Spaniard. Cuesta, who joined Parma in 2025 to take on his first senior managerial role, had a contract that ran for two years.

He replaced Cristian Chivu, who is now the manager of Inter Milan. The statement from Parma noted that the conditions to continue the professional relationship were no longer in place, particularly concerning the development of the sporting project. Cuesta expressed his commitment to the team and club, stating that he gave his all during the intense half-year period.

The decision to part ways was made a week after Parma secured their first Serie A victory of the season, a 2-1 win against Genoa at home. Parma is currently 15th in the league. The club's statement announced that the following Monday's training session would be led by the coaching staff pending further developments regarding the appointment of a new head coach.
