Luis Díaz talks about having no back-up at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich's Luis Díaz spoke candidly about the lack of a reliable backup player, revealing that although he relishes every opportunity to play, having a dependable substitute can be invaluable when his team is struggling. In an interview with Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau, Díaz stated, "Of course, I always want to play; I love playing.

That’s normal. But if there’s someone who can help out in my position, they’re more than welcome." He further elaborated on the importance of having a teammate in his shoes, saying, "It helps a lot when things aren’t going well – then you have a teammate there to help you, and you can rotate between each other. That’s very important."

While Díaz would have liked to have such a backup, he acknowledged that it didn’t materialize. The player expressed satisfaction with the team's current form and emphasized the benefits of the upcoming break following their UEFA Champions League match against Bodø/Glimt, stating, "Now we have a break after this game, then the international matches are coming up… and this break will also help us mentally prepare for what’s still to come this season, and it will be good."

This statement underscores Díaz's understanding of the value of rest and preparation, particularly in light of his extensive playing time last season, which may have contributed to fatigue. Consequently, the club attempted to sign another left-winger to bolster their roster, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
