Kidnapped Bhopal businessman rescued within three hours of police complaint

A Bhopal businessman, Prem Singh Solanki, who operates an antique business, was rescued from kidnappers within three hours of lodging a police complaint following his abduction in Kolkata. Allegedly lured to Kolkata on September 24 under the pretext of selling his products, Solanki was asked by the accused to visit an office in Basirhat.

Upon reaching the location, he sensed something amiss as no one was present. While returning home, his car was stopped by four to five unidentified individuals who dragged him out and transported him to an unknown location. The kidnappers subsequently made a ransom call to his family demanding Rs 20 lakh. Within minutes of receiving the complaint, Solanki's son Rohit flew to Kolkata and immediately informed the police.

Within hours, the NSCBI Airport police initiated an investigation, tracked the mobile towers of the kidnappers and Solanki, and issued a warrant for the location specified by the kidnappers. The police caught three accused individuals at the meeting place on VIP Road and rescued Solanki. The police seized a white SUV used in the kidnapping, and two of the accused claimed former Customs Department positions.

The police are conducting a comprehensive investigation to determine if the accused are involved in an inter-state racket. Rohit expressed gratitude to the police for their prompt action in rescuing his father.
