Jakim tegur, beri panduan kepada Marhamah selepas teliti isu ‘New Age’

Malaysia's Islamic Affairs Department (Jakim) has responded to allegations linking controversial figure Marhamah Rosli with the New Age Movement (NAM), providing stern warnings and guidance to Deputy Prime Minister's Department (Hal Ehwal Agama) Marhamah Rosli following a thorough investigation. Sirajuddin Suhaimee, the Principal Advisor, said that the inquiry involved a series of meetings and consultations with Marhamah, as well as various experts and officials from relevant religious and academic backgrounds.

The investigation examined the content and dissemination of programs led by Marhamah, as well as the approach taken, and its implications for religion and belief systems. After the discussions, several warnings, advisories, and guidelines were issued, addressing the topics covered in the programs, their production, and the approach used, considering their impact on religious and spiritual matters.

On September 18, Marhamah denied the accusations, giving a 24-hour deadline to the publishing party to retract the allegations and seek forgiveness. The department stated that a screenshot of Marhamah's message, dated September 20, 2019, was central to the controversy, and was intended to highlight personal development rather than endorse or recognize the individual's views, teachings, or practices being referenced.

Marhamah's office emphasized that he has never been a mentor, attended classes, met or communicated directly with any individuals being accused, and denied having ever taught, promoted, or spread the alleged behavior.
