Italy deports Moldovan trap artist over highway video

Italy has deported a Moldovan trap music artist, Bratan, known by his real name Nicolae Novacenko, for allegedly obstructing a major highway near Milan to film a music video. The incident occurred this month when Novacenko, along with a group of about 30 people, blocked the road on his motorcycle. The musician has since been stripped of his residence permit and flown back to Moldova, according to Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.

Novacenko, who has lived in Italy since the age of 17, is reportedly 32 years old and has a partner and a one-year-old child. Italy's hard-right government has been escalating its stance on security and immigration ahead of elections next year, with the far-right National Future party advocating for the deportation of irregular migrants and those who commit crimes.
