Foreign male dancers nabbed as Immigration raids Jalan Klang Lama club charging patrons up to RM700

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 — Immigration officers launched a raid on an entertainment venue in Jalan Klang Lama on Saturday morning. The operation, which commenced at 12.05am, was the result of a month-long surveillance and tip-offs from the public, according to Zakaria Shaaban, the Immigration director general. Four men were apprehended during the raid – three Chinese nationals and a Filipino man aged between 21 and 31. However, all of them were found to be lacking valid travel documents or permits.

The immigration raid was conducted in collaboration with the National Anti-Drug Agency. The establishment, which has been operating for a year, was suspected of targeting both local and foreign visitors in the Klang Valley, imposing charges ranging from RM53 to RM700 based on the quantity of alcohol consumed and the type of table booking made.

The detained individuals were subsequently handed over to the Immigration Department's office in Putrajaya for further proceedings. The matter is currently under investigation under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. Additionally, three local men were issued notices requiring them to assist in the investigation. According to Zakaria, the Immigration Department is committed to conducting joint operations with other enforcement agencies to curb such illegal activities.
