Fifita throws 4 touchdown passes in Arizona's 34-24 win over Washington State

Noah Fifita's remarkable performance led Arizona to a 34-24 victory over Washington State on Saturday night. Fifita completed 297 yards and threw four touchdown passes, helping the Wildcats overcome a halftime deficit. Tre Spivey contributed significantly with seven catches for 129 yards and two scores. Washington State's loss ended their four-game winning streak at home.

Caden Pinnick threw for 241 yards and a touchdown, and also ran for a touchdown on the Cougars' opening drive. Safety Jackquintin Bal intercepted Fifita and returned the interception 25 yards for a touchdown, putting Washington State up 14-0. Fifita's second interception of the season came later, narrowing the gap to 14-7. Spivey's 28-yard touchdown pass to Fifita and his 4-yard touchdown catch tied the game at 14-14.

Washington State had a chance to take the lead but failed with a blocked 39-yard field goal attempt by Stevens, who has a season record of 1-6 on field goals. The game remained close until Arizona's Michael Salgado-Medina's 42-yard field goal went wide right to open the second half. Stevens then successfully blocked a 43-yard Salgado-Medina attempt, keeping Washington State ahead 17-14 at halftime.

Arizona's field goals, including Salgado-Medina's 27-yard attempt, eventually secured their 34-24 victory. The loss was Washington State's first at home in four games. Arizona will face Cincinnati Bearcats next Saturday, while Washington State begins their Pac-12 season with a home game against Fresno State.
