‘Farmers or data centres?’: Congress’s question for Fadnavis amid drought

BJP MP Naresh Bansal responded to the opposition's calls for the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation, asserting that there is no confusion within the Election Commission of India (ECI). He explained that while the three members may have differing views before a decision, the final decision is always unanimous. Bansal accused the opposition of creating a false image of confusion to project their own image.

The Congress party, in contrast, claims the ECI has faced setbacks, but the UP Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh dismissed these allegations, stating that the ECI's actions have been validated by the people and other constitutional bodies. The controversy stems from a report by the Indian Express alleging that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected 14 times over 10 months to decisions related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. However, the ECI clarified that all decisions related to the SIR were made unanimously.
