‘Completely unacceptable’: EAM Jaishankar demands action over attacks on Indian sailors

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar demanded decisive action in response to recent attacks on Indian sailors during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Friday. In his speech, he emphasized that countries with no involvement in the ongoing conflicts in the Gulf are bearing the brunt of these hostilities.

Jaishankar warned that the targeting of commercial shipping and seafarers passing through international waters is completely unacceptable. He cited two recent incidents, the attack on the MV Cape Dao and the missing crew member of the El Gaia tanker, both of which involved Indian personnel. India has established a new maritime safety group to address these issues, joining 24 other nations in the effort.

Jaishankar called for all parties in the conflicts to exercise restraint, reduce tensions, and protect civilians and trade routes.
