Boundaries vital for freedom of expression, says Kunnathur MLA Ullas Kovoor

Kunnathur MLA Ullas Kovoor emphasized the importance of boundaries in safeguarding freedom of expression. He warned that encroaching on this fundamental right could lead to widespread injustice. Kovoor stressed that true liberty thrives when diverse viewpoints are embraced with mutual respect and tolerance. He inaugurated Samanwayam 2026, a week-long seminar series held at the Kalayapuram Ashraya campus in Kollam.

While recognizing the power of social media to disseminate positivity, Kovoor expressed concern over a small group of individuals threatening public harmony. He urged that all creative and expressive endeavors should respect societal boundaries to ensure the well-being of the community. The event was presided over by D. Ramanikutty, with a keynote speech delivered by Pranav Manikantan on the theme of freedom of expression in today's society.

Several local officials, including Kulakkada grama panchayat president Priya P. and S. Suresh Babu, also addressed the gathering.
