Anlo Royal Heritage welcomes Gomoa Amanful Benkumhene in celebration of shared ancestry and culture

The Anlo Royal Heritage extended a warm welcome to Nana Abena Etubra, the Benkumhene of Gomoa Amanful, to her ancestral home at Keta-Dzelukope in the Volta Region. This ceremony, marking shared ancestry, culture, and unity, was attended by the Togbi Tay-Agbozo and Togbi Dzokoto Gligui Royal Families, as well as the Nugbemado-Ziddah Families.

The homecoming ceremony, held after her installation in 2023, showcased vibrant cultural performances from both Anlo and Gomoa communities, symbolizing the strong historical and cultural ties between the two regions.

The event featured traditional music, dance, and customary rites, underscoring the significance of the occasion. Nana Abena Etubra's lineage is unique, connecting royal heritage from Anlo, Gomoa, and Ga in the Greater Accra Region. Her presence at the ancestral home was viewed as a vital occasion for reinforcing family bonds and promoting cultural identity.

During her address, she expressed gratitude to her parents and families for safeguarding her diverse cultural heritage. Nana Abena Etubra emphasized the unity between the people of Anlo and Gomoa Amanful, regardless of language or community, and reaffirmed her dedication to the development of both regions.

Togbi James Ocloo IV of Keta-Dzelukope urged parents and community members to prioritize the well-being of their children, describing the homecoming as a symbolic moment. He pledged continued collaboration between the two communities to preserve their cultural heritage and strengthen their relationship. Family member James Dagbi and other speakers described the ceremony as a unique celebration of cultural diversity and unity, calling on Ghanaians to remain united, live as one people, and work together to preserve the nation's rich cultural heritage.
