Woman’s body found in VTPS cooling canal identified

The body of a woman, identified as Kalyani, has been discovered in the VTPS cooling canal, according to the Ibrahimpatnam police. Kalyani, who hailed from Mangalagiri in Guntur district, was an orphan woman who had been married but had since separated from her husband due to family disputes. Her brother resided in Vijayawada. On September 18, the police found her body mutilated in the cooling canal.

Detectives noticed a tattoo on her hand, which prompted them to share photographs of the woman and the tattoo on social media platforms to help identify her. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N.S.V.K. Durga Rao of the West Zone confirmed the identification of the deceased as Kalyani and stated that the police are also investigating the individuals suspected of her murder. The police have reportedly apprehended a few suspects for questioning.
