White House bars CNN from Air Force One for Trump’s upcoming trip

US President Donald Trump attempted to exclude major US news outlets CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from his White House press pool, claiming their coverage was consistently negative. A federal judge temporarily permitted their access after it was deemed likely unconstitutional. CNN had planned to be part of the press pool accompanying the president on a trip to Tennessee.

However, the White House later announced that CNN and other networks would not be part of the rotating group of journalists traveling with him. A pro-Trump outlet, Lindell TV, run by the president's close ally Mike Lindell, was included in the pool instead. Following the revocation of CNN's access, the five major US broadcasters - ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, and NBC - jointly halted pool coverage of the White House, emphasizing the public's right to receive accurate, independent information about the government.

The White House television press pool resumed coverage of President Trump's events, providing live pool coverage for Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the United States, including Xi's arrival and tour of the National Archives.
