What if the Raiders trade for Marvin Harrison Jr?

If the Las Vegas Raiders were to trade for Marvin Harrison Jr., his role would be that of a role player in the offense, serving as the third receiver in line and the fourth pass catcher overall. Mike LaFleur, the Cardinals' head coach, acknowledges that Harrison provides easier completions, but he isn't particularly interested in developing him or giving him many opportunities.

Harrison's poor performance in practice, characterized by focus issues and half-speed routes, suggests he's just going through the motions. Another former NFL wide receiver, TJ Houshmandzadeh, has suggested that Harrison is desperate to leave the situation. If the Raiders were to acquire Harrison, he would likely be the best receiver on the team, even though he wouldn't be the primary pass catcher.

The return of Brock Bowers in week 3 would alleviate some of the pressure on him, while the rest of the Raiders' receivers would benefit from improved matchups against opposing defenses. Ideally, the Raiders would offer a third-rounder to a fifth-rounder or possibly even Jalen Nailor, along with Jaxson Dart's injured season-ending injury, to facilitate the trade. In return, they could potentially acquire Aidan O’Connell and still have room to add another receiver in the 2027 draft, giving the 2026 Raiders a legitimate chance at a playoff-caliber roster and setting them up for future success at a minimal cost to their draft picks.
