Andre Agassi having ‘more fun’ coaching in tennis after saying in his book he hated the sport

Andre Agassi, the tennis legend, who once wrote in his book "Open" that he always despised the sport, is now relishing coaching in tennis. The 56-year-old, an eight-time Grand Slam champion and former No. 1, serves as the captain of Team World for the Laver Cup, a role that has brought him more enjoyment than stress. Agassi commented on the shift, saying he used to associate tennis with stress rather than fun.

He expressed his appreciation for his ability to assist players in strategizing during matches, a task he finds more enjoyable now. This sentiment comes after Agassi's 2009 autobiography, where he described his deep-seated dislike for tennis, which he attributed to his father's overbearing nature. Despite his initial aversion, Agassi has contributed significantly to Team World's victory in last year's Laver Cup, which is currently underway in London.
