Wangchuk compares Ladakh situation with Tibet; CTA calls it 'misplaced, inaccurate'

Leh Apex Body member Sonam Wangchuk recently compared the situation in Ladakh to Tibet, drawing a connection between the alleged breach of promises made to Ladakh and the current unrest. However, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in Dharamshala dismissed Wangchuk's comparison as misplaced and inaccurate, stating that Tibet remains under China's authoritarian rule. Wangchuk's remarks come a day after violence erupted in Ladakh on September 24, 2025, claiming the lives of four protesters and injuring around 90 others.
