UAE and Bangladesh ties: Abdullah bin Zayed meets Bangladesh Prime Minister in New York

In a recent interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, described the situation in the Strait of Hormuz as "very difficult" and "challenging." He emphasized that the strait, traditionally an international waterway, is now being manipulated and used as a tool of "blackmail" in the ongoing conflict.

The Prime Minister called for global cooperation to resolve the issue, stating that it has now become a global problem that requires collective action. He stressed that the actions taken are unacceptable and urged the international community to put an end to this manipulation.

When asked about the progress of talks between Iran and the US, the Prime Minister expressed optimism, saying that while there have been some positive developments, more needs to be done. He expressed hope that diplomacy can prevail and that a solution can be found.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the value of the defense partnership between Qatar and the US, despite the recent attacks on Gulf countries. He emphasized that this partnership is the most valuable defense alliance Qatar has and that the current circumstances necessitate strengthening this relationship in the future.
