Stephen Curry and Warriors agree to 2-year contract extension worth $116 million, AP source says

Former NBA head coach PJ Carlesimo has expressed doubt that the Golden State Warriors have reached the end of their championship window, despite concerns surrounding their roster and Stephen Curry's future. Carlesimo spoke about Golden State's situation on NEXTPredict, arguing that the team still possesses the talent to remain competitive.

"I hate to say this is the last big push," Carlesimo said, "because you can make some deals and change some people. When Jimmy gets healthy, when their guys are healthy including Steph and Draymond, it’s still a very good team." Curry, currently 38, is set to decide on a two-year, $136.7 million extension with the Warriors, but Carlesimo believes the franchise still has a strong chance to contend.

"Steph hasn't lost anything. I don’t want to say Draymond’s lost anything, but OK, you’ve got a couple guys that are veterans. Jimmy, when he's healthy, is still one of the best players in the league. Steph is one of the best players ever. I don’t think they are as far away (as people think)." Curry's long-term future remains uncertain, as he faces a significant contract decision, but Carlesimo believes the Warriors remain in the mix for another championship run, provided their core players stay healthy.
