Qatar participates in Arab League-OIC Joint Ministerial meeting

New York, USA: Qatar joined the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in a joint ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly session, with Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi representing the nation. The minister highlighted Qatar's dedication to strengthening and coordinating joint Arab and Islamic action to safeguard Jerusalem's sites, which are of significance to both Muslims and Christians.

Dr. Al Khulaifi strongly condemned Israel's actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque, including mass settler incursions, the raising of the Israeli flag, and the violation of international and humanitarian laws. He emphasized that all unilateral measures threatening to alter Jerusalem's historical, legal, and demographic status, as well as the sanctity of its holy sites, are invalid under international law.

The minister stressed the importance of implementing the outcomes of the Amman meeting, which includes establishing a sustainable institutional mechanism to monitor, document, and expose Israeli violations against holy sites. Qatar appreciated the Arab Ministerial Committee's support for this initiative and expressed its commitment to continuing coordination with the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to activate the mechanism, define its procedures, and raise global awareness of the situation.

Dr. Al Khulaifi reiterated Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian people's rights, including the right to self-determination, the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the implementation of the two-state solution. He reiterated the nation's rejection of any measures threatening the implementation of this solution.
