Puka Nacua doubtful for Week 3

The Los Angeles Rams are being cautious with player Puka Nacua after he missed practice on Wednesday due to a groin/hip issue that has been plaguing him since the Monday night game against the New York Giants. Head coach Sean McVay provided an update on Nacua's condition, stating that he does not have a hernia and that time is the best healer for the injury. McVay explained that once Nacua reaches a certain point in his recovery, he should feel confident moving forward.

Nacua's status for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos remains unclear. The two-time Pro Bowler started the season with impressive performances, including five catches for 74 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia before missing Week 2. Davante Adams stepped up to fill the void, recording an impressive performance with eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns against New York. If Nacua misses another game, Adams would likely become the primary target for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Nacua was the NFL's leading receiver in 2021 with 129 receptions and has been a standout performer for the Rams. Pairing him with Adams creates one of the most dangerous receiving combinations in the league. Given the Rams' aspirations to reach the Super Bowl, Nacua's long-term health is of utmost importance. If necessary, a week-long absence might be worth it to ensure Nacua's safe return to action.
