PRN Melaka: Jika terus digantung, PN mungkin guna logo PAS

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition has the potential to use PAS's symbol in the Melaka state election (PRN Melaka) if the joint registration with JPPM remains pending, according to Takiyuddin Hassan, PN's Deputy President and PAS. He clarified that PN has no issues with other parties using their logo, but explicitly requested Bersatu to field their own symbol.

However, the use of logos is not a major concern in Melaka, and the coalition will assess the situation based on current circumstances. Therefore, it is not mandatory for the parties within PN to use their own logos; they can use any party's symbol, showcasing unity. Consequently, there is no issue if one party from the PN coalition, such as PAS, uses its respective logo.

This is in line with the legal options available. The Election Boundary Commission will meet on October 7 to decide on the date for the PRN Melaka, following the dissolution of the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. When DUN Melaka was dissolved, PN's registration appeal was presented to Bersatu. The coalition has been given 30 days to respond to the appeal.

PAS, which leads PN through its Deputy President, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, is the most dominant component within the coalition with 43 parliamentary seats and 146 Dewan Undangan Negeri seats.
