Police arrest suspected B13 gang member linked to violent robberies in Eldoret

The arrest occurred on September 25, 2026, at the Roadblock area of Eldoret, following information provided by members of the public and deemed actionable intelligence by the National Police Service (NPS).

Police described the operation on September 26, 2026, in a statement shared on social media platform X. The suspect was apprehended after officers received information about his alleged activities, leading them to the Roadblock area of Eldoret. The NPS stated, "Police officers from Kapsoya Police Station in Uasin Gishu County yesterday, 25 September 2025, arrested a suspect in a robbery with violence case, believed to be affiliated with a criminal gang known as Brothers 13 (B13)."

The suspect, who remains unidentified, is suspected of being linked to several violent robberies affecting residents in the Munyaka area. During the operation, officers recovered several items believed to have been stolen, which were taken to Kapsoya Police Station for preservation as evidence. Police credited members of the public for providing the information that led to the suspect's arrest, highlighting the importance of community reporting in combating criminal networks.

The suspect was subsequently taken to Kapsoya Police Station, where he is currently in custody pending further investigation and potential arraignment. The recovered items, including a laptop, mobile phones, and crude weapons, are being held as exhibits. Further investigation is expected to determine the suspect's connection to the reported robbery cases in Munyaka and whether additional individuals may be involved in the alleged criminal network.
