Pimpinan tertinggi PN mahu jumpa JPPM susulan penggantungan

Pimpinan utama Perikatan Nasional, Takiyuddin Hassan, has requested a meeting with the head of the Malaysia Union Registration Department (JPPM) following the party's decision to indefinitely suspend all joint activities. The PN leader stated that the party will submit a formal explanation regarding the complaint filed by Bersatu within two weeks.

"Yesterday, the PN leader also sent a letter requesting a special meeting with the head of JPPM to gain clarification on the matter," he said, according to a report by Berita Harian. Takiyuddin noted that PN cannot predict what will happen after the explanation is submitted, while acknowledging the possibility of the joint registration application being canceled.

"If our explanation satisfies JPPM, perhaps the registration cancellation will not be canceled. If it does not satisfy them, perhaps it will be canceled," he added. Takiyuddin, who is also the setiausaha agung for PAS, once again questioned the timing of the suspension, as it occurred on the same day that the Melaka State Assembly was dissolved to clear the way for national elections.

JPPM suspended all PN activities on Wednesday, a day after issuing a notice of cause for the complaint filed by Bersatu. The department had previously explained that the suspension aimed to protect the interests of the union and was not indicative of the cancellation of PN's registration. Takiyuddin previously alleged the possibility of political pressure behind the action taken against PN.
