PBB senarai 214 syarikat sumbang bina penempatan haram Israel di Palestin

A listing has been published by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights detailing at least 214 companies that have contributed to the construction of settlements in Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. The report, released by the United Nations agencies, was published on Friday and covered by German news agency dpa.

Most of the companies are based in Israel, while the remaining eight are based in the United States, including Airbnb. The list, published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for the Human Rights Council, also includes tour companies from the US like Expedia, German construction firm Heidelberg Materials, and two companies from China, France, and the United Kingdom.

Companies based in South Africa, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Spain are also listed. According to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Israel's settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories is unlawful. This is the fourth such list since the data collection began in 2020. Last year, the list included 158 companies.

As of 2024, OHCHR has received reports linking 596 companies and is still investigating 255 of them. The assessment in each case determines whether a company is directly involved in the construction, operating activities in the occupied territory alongside others, or contributing to the construction through its products or services.

The listing in the database does not carry any special consequences. The states supported the establishment of the data collection in 2016 to improve accuracy, hoping pressure could be applied to the implicated companies to cease the related activities.
