Nnamdi Kanu: World awaits southeast leaders on political solution – IPOB lawyer, Ejimakor

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), stated on Saturday that the world is eagerly awaiting progress made by Southeast governors and leaders on securing a political solution for Kanu's release. Kanu is currently serving a life sentence at the Sokoto Custodial Centre, after being found guilty by the Abuja Federal High Court for crimes committed during his agitation for Biafra.

Following his imprisonment, some Southeast leaders have called for a political resolution to free Kanu. However, Ejimakor emphasized that Kanu has always insisted any dialogue or political solution must come from a position of honor and utmost good faith. In a statement, Ejimakor clarified that any political solution must be genuine and respectful, and that government must create an environment conducive to such a solution.

The statement added that political solutions have historically emerged from negotiations and discussions, rather than from submission or submission. Ejimakor reminded that the world is waiting for the leaders of the Southeast to provide updates on the progress of their political solution initiative, launched as recently as June of this year.
