Mob attacks woman while feeding community dogs

On September 23, a 45-year-old woman named Sudha Deepak was reportedly attacked while feeding stray dogs in NTI Layout, Kodigehalli Police Station jurisdiction. According to her complaint filed with the police on September 24, Sudha was at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, 4th Main, 6th Cross, around 8:30 p.m., providing food and water to the community dogs.

A resident approached her and began throwing stones at the animals. When Sudha asked him to stop, the man became aggressive, arguing with her. She started recording the incident on her mobile phone as the argument escalated. The man allegedly snatched the phone and verbally abused her. She managed to retrieve it later. The complainant stated that the man also called other people to the scene to prevent her from feeding the dogs.

One of them, wearing a red-sleeved shirt, allegedly assaulted her hand with a wooden stick, damaging the phone's display. Sudha informed the police that she was feeding the dogs during off-peak hours to avoid inconveniencing residents. She called the emergency helpline 112 and the Kodigehalli police, and patrol personnel arrived on the scene, but the accused had already fled.

In her complaint, Sudha requested legal action against the unidentified assailants for assaulting her, damaging her phone, and preventing her from caring for the dogs. She also asked the police to issue a warning to the accused to refrain from harassing or assaulting her in the future.
