Makkah Defence Alliance military chiefs vow to 'immediately' translate commitments into effective military cooperation: ISPR

The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement's signatories, comprising Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye, recently reaffirmed their pledge to initiate effective military cooperation, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). This commitment was affirmed during a meeting in Riyadh on Friday, attended by the chiefs of defence forces and staff from all three nations.

The ISPR reported that the meeting's discussions centered on enhancing military collaboration, with a focus on intelligence sharing, coordinated military actions, and integrating capabilities. These actions, according to the ISPR, would bolster regional deterrence and collective defense.

The military leaders also assessed the security landscape and threats confronting Saudi Arabia, expressing deep disapproval of any attacks on Makkah, as well as on civilian and economic infrastructure. They acknowledged the vigilance and professionalism of the Saudi armed forces in safeguarding the nation's populace and security. The participants also lauded the enduring relationships and mutual trust among the three countries and their armed forces.

The Riyadh gathering underscored the robustness of the defense alliance between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye, and their resolute determination to honor the commitments outlined in the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. Furthermore, the ISPR emphasized the collective defense commitment of the three nations, highlighting their resolve to safeguard Saudi Arabia's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
