Lee heads home after wrapping up state visit to Mexico

President Lee Jae Myung returned to South Korea after concluding his state visits to Mexico and the United States. The trip began on September 23, with a visit to Mexico City, where he met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to discuss economic cooperation and expand collaboration in various sectors such as artificial intelligence and the defense industry.

On September 24, Lee traveled to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, where he addressed the 81st assembly and outlined a phased approach to denuclearizing North Korea, starting with halting and reducing the country's nuclear and missile programs. The same day, he held a summit with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which Trump reaffirmed his commitment to dialogue with North Korea.
