Leatherwood throws 5 touchdown passes, rallies Tennessee Tech past Wofford 42-38

Jax Leatherwood delivered five touchdown passes, including the final one to Eric Weatherly with just 1:06 left on the clock, securing Tennessee Tech's 42-38 victory over Wofford on Saturday. The Golden Eagles' quarterback completed 38 of 48 passes for 427 yards in the game. Leatherwood's key plays included a 24-yard touchdown to Weatherly and an 8-yard pass to MJ Flowers, which tied the score at 35 with 3:23 remaining.

Tennessee Tech then reclaimed the lead after Sam Spence's 42-yard field goal at the 1:46 mark. Tre’ Holloway returned a kickoff 66 yards to the Wofford 30, and Leatherwood connected with Weatherly on three straight passes, culminating in the winning touchdown. Leatherwood's accuracy was on full display, as he connected with 12 different receivers that day.

Ethan Drumm contributed 304 passing yards for Wofford, finding four different receivers, while Colby Alexander added 100 yards on four receptions. Gerald Modest Jr. rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown for Tennessee Tech. The next matchup for Tennessee Tech is against Western Carolina next Saturday.
