Lalbaugcha Raja Visarjan 2026: Bappa Reaches Girgaon Chowpatty, Anant Ambani Joins Thousands For Final Darshan

Lalbaugcha Raja, the beloved Ganesh idol from Mumbai's Lalbaug neighborhood, is making its final journey to Girgaon Chowpatty following a procession spanning nearly 8 kilometers on Saturday morning. As daybreak approached, the grand chariot carrying the revered idol arrived at the shoreline, drawing throngs of devotees who thronged the beachfront since the predawn hours.

Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries and Founder of Vantara, was among the thousands who joined the emotional final moments before the immersion. With the iconic idol now positioned at the water's edge, preparations were underway for its deep-sea release scheduled for around 10 am.

Volunteers, lifeguards, and other personnel were stationed at Girgaon Chowpatty to oversee the concluding ceremony. As the sun ascended, devotees continued to stand in anticipation, raising saffron flags, raising hands, and chanting in unison, bidding farewell to their beloved Bappa. The beach was alive with saffron colors, the air filled with fervent chants and a palpable sense of devotion.

The 11th day of the annual Ganeshotsav festival witnessed the immersion of a record-breaking 25,513 Ganesh idols, comprising 2,398 public idols and 22,565 household idols. Additionally, 550 Gauri idols were also released into the sea. Authorities reported no untoward incidents during the immersion process, ensuring a safe and harmonious celebration.

As Lalbaugcha Raja embarked on its final leg of the journey, Mumbai prepared for the poignant conclusion of the 2026 Ganeshotsav festivities. Thousands of devotees eagerly awaited the emotional finale, ready to pay homage to the city's cherished Ganesh idol.
