Jeddah airport begins gradual operations at Terminal 4

Jeddah Airports Company will commence phased operations at Terminal 4 of King Abdulaziz International Airport starting Sunday. The initial phase will involve Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir moving their flights to the new terminal, with more airlines transitioning in stages according to an approved plan. Eventually, all foreign airlines currently operating from the North Terminal, as well as selected carriers from Terminal 1 and the Hajj/Umrah Terminals, will relocate to Terminal 4 based on operational needs.

This move aims to redistribute traffic across the airport, boost capacity, and streamline passenger flow following Terminal 4's readiness for operations, technical, and service checks. Fly Jinnah flights will relocate from the Hajj and Umrah Terminals (B3) on Monday, September 28, while Nesma Airlines will shift from the North Terminal on the same day.

Akasa Air will move from the Hajj and Umrah Terminals (B3) on Tuesday, September 29, with SyrianAir and Pegasus transferring from the North Terminal on Thursday, October 1. Azerbaijan Airlines and Tunisair will follow on Saturday, October 3, with additional airlines gradually transferring in line with the operational plan. Terminal 4 spans 97,000 square meters and can handle up to 15 million passengers annually, featuring advanced systems and modern amenities like a dedicated group check-in area for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

The expansion follows King Abdulaziz International Airport's record-breaking 2025 passenger traffic of 53.4 million. Airport officials say the Terminal 4 launch is part of broader infrastructure development efforts to enhance the airport's capacity and efficiency amid ongoing growth. Passengers are advised to verify their departure terminal via their airline's official channels or the airport's website and social media before traveling.
