Iran insists on diplomatic solution as Trump rejects plan

Iran has reaffirmed its stance that diplomacy is the only way to resolve its conflict with the United States and Israel. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized that Iran's conditions for reopening the strait must be met.

Iran presented a peace proposal at the UN General Assembly in New York, which was relayed to the Americans via Qatar. However, President Trump dismissed the plan, suggesting that Iran's desperation is driving them to seek an agreement on the critical waterway. Despite Trump's public statements, Araqchi claimed that the US mediators have not officially communicated a US rejection of the proposal.

Iran remains prepared for talks on its nuclear program and other issues, but insists it will not compromise on its rights, including uranium enrichment. The ongoing conflict has had significant economic consequences, disrupting oil flows and causing global economic distress. Iran has retaliated against US and Saudi allies with drone and missile strikes, while its allies in Yemen have targeted Saudi interests.
