INL invites former members, sympathisers to rejoin party

The Indian National League (INL) has announced plans to revitalize its ideological foundation and increase its presence in Kerala, according to party officials. Speaking to the media on September 26, 2026, State President Ahammed Devarkovil and General Secretary Kasim Irikkur revealed that the organization will implement a time-bound action plan, including campaigns, study programs, and organizational work.

These measures are set to coincide with the party's 33rd anniversary and are a response to the evolving political landscape in both Kerala and the nation.

The INL's actions come in the wake of the Left Democratic Front's significant defeat in the recent election, which has prompted the party to reflect on its political trajectory. In their quest to broaden their appeal, the INL intends to attract supporters who share the political beliefs of their founder, Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait, as well as former members and sympathizers who have distanced themselves from the party.

The leaders of the INL have criticized the Congress-led United Democratic Front for straying from its secular stance, accusing the Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League of compromising with the interests of the Sangh Parivar. They have expressed concern that such shifts could allow for the expansion of Hindutva politics in Kerala.
