Flash floods in Klang Valley after evening downpour

Flash floods struck multiple areas in the Klang Valley following an evening downpour, according to reports. The inundated roads and resulting traffic congestion forced Malaysians to share real-time updates on social media platforms. Instances of flash floods were reported in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, Bangsar, Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, and Kajang, alongside southern Selangor locations including Bangi, Bandar Seri Putra, Bukit Mahkota, and the main roads leading to Nilai 3.

The weekend's traffic situation was further aggravated by the aftermath of the rainfall, particularly along roadways like Jalan Bukit Pantai and Jalan Damansara.

Additionally, the meteorological department forecast thunderstorms nationwide, excluding Melaka, until 8pm on the same day. It also predicted adverse weather conditions across Klang Valley and other regions of Selangor, along with parts of other Malaysian states including Perlis, Kedah, Terengganu, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.
