Flash floods in Klang Valley after evening downpour

Flash floods struck various regions within the Klang Valley following an evening downpour, resulting in inundated roads and traffic congestion, according to reports. Malaysians utilized social media to alert one another of the flash floods occurring in numerous areas such as Kuala Lumpur city centre, Bangsar, Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, and Kajang, as well as southern Selangor cities including Bangi, Bandar Seri Putra, Bukit Mahkota, and main routes leading to Nilai 3.

The weekend's traffic congestion was exacerbated by the rainfall's impact, particularly on roads like Jalan Bukit Pantai and Jalan Damansara.

The meteorological department's Bernama quoted forecasted thunderstorms across most of the country, excluding Melaka, until 8pm today. It further predicted adverse weather conditions over the entire Klang Valley and other parts of Selangor. Additionally, the severe weather event was expected to affect several other states in Malaysia, namely Perlis, Kedah, Terengganu, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.
