CS Directors Collectors To Act Against Officials Refusing To Do Registration Under SVAMITVA

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: The Patwaris are refusing to register properties under the Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) scheme. Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal has issued a stern directive to the collectors, demanding they enforce the registration from Thursday to Saturday. Those who defy the order risk government intervention once Wednesday passes.

The SVAMITVA scheme was launched by the BJP's national president, Nitin Nabin, on September 17, yet Patwaris have not commenced registrations. Despite numerous meetings between government representatives and the reluctant revenue officials, resistance continues. The principal secretary (revenue) has emphasized the revenue department's responsibility for the scheme's coordination, execution, and monitoring.

The Commercial Tax Department is tasked with coordinating the registration process, while Science and Technology provides technical support. The Panchayat and Rural Development Department aids local officials, and the government has directed Patwaris to work according to their positions. Collectors oversee the scheme in districts, with additional collectors, nodal officers, and Tehsildars assigned to register deeds through the Sampada App. Over 50,000 streetlights in Bhopal are set to become more energy-efficient from Diwali.
