Court Issues Bailable Arrest Warrants for CDA Chairman

An Islamabad civil court has recently issued bailable arrest warrants for the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) due to their failure in executing a court order affecting numerous residents. This decision was made during a hearing of a petition presented by affected residents, represented by Barrister Adil Aziz Qazi and others.

The petitioners had been enduring the lack of promised benefits for 28 years after the CDA seized their homes. The lawyers argued that the CDA had not fully complied with the decree and requested the court to ensure its effective implementation. They also mentioned that the CDA chairman had failed to show up for three consecutive court appearances despite receiving notices.

The court acknowledged the persistent non-compliance and consequently issued the bailable arrest warrants for the CDA chairman. The court further instructed the relevant authorities to implement the decree, warning that any continued disregard for its directives could lead to additional legal consequences.
