Congress owes nation a public apology: Nabin after EC statement

NEW DELHI: After the Election Commission's statement, the BJP asserted on Saturday that it has unveiled the Congress and its allies for their attempt to shift blame for their declining popularity in elections. BJP President Nitin Nabin declared, "The opposition has once again been exposed for misleading the public regarding the SIR."

The EC had clarified that all decisions concerning the SIR were taken unanimously by the entire commission. Nabin criticized the opposition, stating, "They built their allegations on a fabricated falsehood and attacked our constitutional bodies." He highlighted the opposition's hypocrisy, pointing out that they criticize the electoral process when it results in their defeat but accept it when they win.

Nabin emphasized that democracy cannot be respected selectively and that those who have undermined India's democratic framework for political survival must apologize to the nation. BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad noted that Rahul had made false and disgraced allegations, blaming the Election Commission for the opposition's political shortcomings. Prasad further claimed that the Indian Express story was "factually incorrect."
