Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere reveals PSG talks

Atalanta's star forward Charles De Ketelaere has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) showed interest in his transfer over the summer. The 25-year-old Belgian, who has been instrumental in Atalanta's success this season, recently sat down for an interview with La Derniere Heure. De Ketelaere expressed his gratitude for his current club, stating that he aims to win titles with Atalanta.

He admitted that while several teams, including PSG, had shown interest, the hefty transfer fee of around 50 million euros put some moves out of reach. De Ketelaere also mentioned that PSG had approached him, but they ultimately chose to sign Ferran Torres instead. The player, who is contracted to stay at Atalanta until June 2028, earns a gross annual salary of €3.21 million.

While the club's management may not appreciate De Ketelaere discussing potential moves publicly, it's evident that he has ambitions to play for a bigger club. PSG, who are in the market for a reliable forward capable of playing in multiple positions, may reevaluate their interest in the Belgian next summer. For now, Atalanta faces the challenge of finding a suitable replacement for De Ketelaere, given that his contract expires in two years.
