At least 11 killed, several injured in blast targeting DI Khan police checkpost: Rescue 1122

At least 11 individuals lost their lives and 20 others sustained injuries in a bomb explosion that targeted a police checkpost in Aman Mela, near Dera Ismail Khan's Darazinda, on Saturday, according to Rescue 1122 officials. The victims included eight men, two women, and a child. Rescue teams are presently engaged in recovery efforts at the site.

Police have stated that bomb disposal teams have been deployed to investigate the explosion's origin and cause. Several individuals, comprising police officers, customs officials, and civilians, were among the injured. Rescue 1122 has reported that 20 injured persons have received initial medical care, with 18 of them being transported to Darazinda and Mufti Mahmood Hospital in DI Khan for further treatment.

Muhammad Arif Khan, the District Emergency Officer of Rescue 1122, has ordered the deployment of four additional ambulances, staffed by personnel from DI Khan, to bolster the rescue operation and aid in the evacuation of the wounded. The checkpost is utilized by police for security and monitoring purposes along the DI Khan-Quetta route.
