Army begins renovation, development of 11 Brigade headquarters in Benue

The Nigerian Army has initiated renovation and infrastructure development projects at the 11 Brigade headquarters in Gboko, Benue State, to enhance its operational capacity and presence in the region. General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 5 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Moses Gara, reported this during an operational visit to the brigade.

Gara inspected the living quarters and reviewed the ongoing improvements at the brigade headquarters, accompanied by Garrison Commander, 5 Division, Makurdi, Brigadier General MD Abdulsalam, and other senior officers from the division and Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke (JTF OPWS). They evaluated the welfare of personnel and the brigade's readiness to execute its security duties within its operational area.

Gara praised Brigade Commander, Brigadier General AO Odubiyi, for maintaining the required standards at the formation and urged officers and soldiers to uphold professionalism, dedication, and commitment in their duties, particularly in the Army's efforts to maintain peace and security within its area of responsibility. This development follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's recent approval of the creation of the new 5 Division alongside four other divisions to expand and strengthen the Nigerian Army's security presence across the country.
