Troops rescue six kidnapped victims during patrol in Benue

Troops from the Joint Task Force's Operation Whirl Stroke rescued six kidnapped victims during a routine patrol in Benue State on September 25. The victims, identified as Gabriel Enujuba, Samson Magbo, Alkasim Modu, Manzo Bello, Sani Abdullahi, and Munza Yusuf, were found near the Gbise community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.

Lt. Ahmad Zubairu, the Acting Media Information Officer of the task force, confirmed the rescue in a statement issued in Makurdi. The troops received credible intelligence about the location of the victims and swiftly moved to apprehend them during their patrol. Initially, it was discovered that five of the victims were abducted along the Chenchengi-Takum road.

One of the rescued victims, Yusuf, revealed he was kidnapped from his residence in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The task force has intensified operations to target and apprehend members of the criminal group responsible for the abductions. They are also expanding their human intelligence network to better identify and track criminals.
