Anwar: UiTM Jalan Othman Campus renamed in honour of Arshad Ayub, architect of institution’s early growth

Shah Alam, on September 26, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that the Jalan Othman Campus of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Petaling Jaya would be renamed UiTM Tun Arshad Ayub Jalan Othman Campus in honor of the late educationist. Anwar highlighted Arshad's crucial role in transforming the Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM) into UiTM and his unwavering commitment to educational quality, good governance, and providing educational opportunities for Bumiputera students.

Despite not being widely remembered by the younger generation, Arshad's legacy encompassed his strong leadership, adherence to good governance, and dedication to the growth of the institution. The Prime Minister made this announcement during a gathering at the university's Dewan Agung Tuanku Canselor (DATC). Additionally, the government approved RM2.5 million to upgrade the campus.
