Anwar says he has not received Loke’s resignation letter

Shah Alam, September 26 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has not yet received Transport Minister Anthony Loke's resignation letter, he stated when questioned about the matter. When asked about Loke's intention to resign from the Cabinet, Anwar pointedly instructed reporters to "wait for the resignation letter." This occurred following a DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on September 19, where Loke offered his resignation in response to the conditional pardon granted to former Prime Minister Najib Razak.

Loke plans to submit his resignation letter upon returning to Malaysia from China. Regarding the Registrar of Societies (RoS) order suspending all activities of Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the run-up to the Melaka state election, Anwar suggested the issue should be directed to Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. The RoS imposed this suspension on September 23, based on a notice issued to PN on September 22, as per Subsection 13(2A) of the Societies Act 1966.
