Ahead of Budget 2027, Anwar invites small entrepreneurs to identify those needing support

On September 26, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim invited small entrepreneurs in every Malaysian village to suggest individuals who should receive government aid, as part of the plan to raise funds for this group in the upcoming Budget 2027. Anwar emphasized the importance of these suggestions to ensure that aid reaches genuinely needy small traders and has the potential to expand their businesses.

At the Kedah Usahawan Bangkit scheme inauguration in Anak Bukit, Anwar stated that many stalls run by small entrepreneurs provide employment, helping to generate income for the local community. He added that even small aid amounts are highly appreciated by these hardworking entrepreneurs.

The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) will determine the most effective way to assist needy small entrepreneurs based on the proposals received. Approximately 1,500 entrepreneurs and petty traders from Kedah attended the event to support the Madani Government's efforts in strengthening the people's economy.

Through the Usahawan Bangkit scheme, the government offers tailored business equipment aid to increase entrepreneurs' business capacity and productivity. Anwar highlighted that investments by major foreign companies, including in artificial intelligence (AI), computing, and semiconductors, can stimulate economic growth and generate more job opportunities for the people. He also mentioned the development of medical technology in China, which can treat blindness and restore sight.

Anwar assured that introducing foreign investments will not disrupt local enterprises, particularly small entrepreneurs. He stated that the government is continuously working to alleviate the people's burden, especially the rising cost of goods.
