280 Titiwangsa students receive RM1,000 education aid

In Kuala Lumpur today, Titiwangsa parliamentary constituency's 280 tertiary students received RM1,000 each in financial aid to support their educational needs. The aid was granted by Titiwangsa MP Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, who is also the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister. The annual assistance aims to aid students from low-income families in pursuing higher education. The program has been active since 2013, with the current aid targeting newly enrolled students at institutions of higher learning.

Johari emphasized that breaking the cycle of poverty requires prioritizing education at all levels, from primary to tertiary. He stressed that education can bring about significant change when approached with determination. The decision to provide cash assistance rather than laptops was made to give students the flexibility to allocate the funds according to their specific educational needs.

Muhammad Zikrullah Husaini Zuber Putera, a 24-year-old newly enrolled Maritime Management student at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology, expressed gratitude for the assistance. The money would help alleviate his parents' financial burden in purchasing a laptop for his studies. Luqmanul Hakim Daswarman, a 24-year-old Business Administration student at UniKL Business School, intended to save the money before using it to buy a new laptop.

Nor Nadhira Abd Hadi, a 32-year-old Psychology student at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, planned to use the funds to cover part of her tuition fees.

Earlier, Johari visited and inaugurated the Malurians Fun Day Carnival 2026 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Maluri. During the event, he interacted with the Maluri community through various activities organized for the occasion.
