Unit integriti perlu jadi rakan strategik, bukan sekadar urus aduan

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul emphasized the importance of strengthening the Integrity Unit within every organization as a frontline defense against corruption and poor management practices. He argued that the unit should not just handle complaints or take action after violations occur, but instead function as a strategic partner to top management.

By identifying risks earlier, improving system weaknesses, and fostering a culture of integrity, the Integrity Unit can significantly reduce opportunities for corruption. This viewpoint was presented during the closing session of the 2026 National Interagency Workshop on Management, Integrity, and Anti-corruption in Putrajaya's International Convention Centre.

Johari stated that the effectiveness of the Integrity Unit should be measured not by the number of successfully detected cases, but by the extent to which it prevents violations from occurring. He argued that the greatest achievement is when the unit can anticipate risks earlier, rectify weaknesses, and integrate integrity into the very DNA of the organization.
