Pune Ganpati Visarjan 2026: 27 Ambulances Deployed Along Immersion Routes; 759 Traffic Personnel Trained In CPR

As millions of devotees are anticipated to converge for the grand Ganesh Visarjan processions in Pune, the city's traffic police have taken significant medical precautions along all four immersion routes. A total of 27 ambulances, staffed by doctors and equipped with essential medical supplies, will remain on standby along the routes to offer immediate assistance to both devotees and local residents.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Bhajibhakare revealed that each ambulance will be accompanied by a traffic police officer who will maintain contact with the police control room. Should a medical emergency arise, these officers will assist in clearing the path through crowds and traffic blockages, ensuring swift transportation of the patient to the nearest hospital.

The city's preparation is particularly crucial as the roads surrounding the immersion procession routes will be closed for approximately 36 hours. Local residents in need of emergency medical care can still seek help through the police control room. Beyond the ambulance deployment, the traffic branch has successfully trained 759 police personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

These trained officers will be strategically placed along the immersion routes, equipped to provide immediate assistance to anyone experiencing breathing difficulties or a medical emergency. Bhajibhakare emphasized that these CPR-trained personnel will be continuously deployed throughout the immersion routes. Should any individual require assistance, they will promptly offer help and, when necessary, administer CPR at the scene.

The police urge citizens to contact the police control room in case of a medical emergency during the festive immersion processions.
