Taylor Swift Releases Four New Songs

On Wednesday, Taylor Swift announced that her single "Patient Zero" would arrive at midnight, accompanied by three additional tracks. These songs are "Patient Zero," "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding," and "Babylon," all part of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. The following day, Swift unveiled a video teaser of "Patient Zero," featuring herself alongside Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.

However, viewers will need to wait until Sunday night at the MTV VMAs to witness the complete performance. The new album represents a reissue of a 2025 release that had undergone expansions with titles such as So Glamorous Cabaret Version and So Punk on the Internet Version. Swift co-wrote the extra tracks with Max Martin and Shellback, after meeting them in Sweden to celebrate the original album's triumph.

Since presenting Showgirl at No. 1 in October, Swift has been honored with inductions into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the National Recording Registry, as well as contributing "I Knew It, I Knew You" for Toy Story 5. At Sunday's VMAs, she will receive the inaugural "Artist Director Honors," an award seemingly created to justify her presence.
